HOURS OF WORK:  35 Hours per week; 10 months

QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination equivalent to:  graduation from high school plus ability to pass paraprofessional assessment test and one year experience working with children with special education needs in an organized setting.  AA Degree preferred.

 

STARTING WAGE:  $15.15 per hour

 

CLASS TITLE:  PRESCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION AIDE

 

 

CLASSIFICATION:  Non-Exempt

 

BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of special education students; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of individual education plans; provide routine clerical support.

Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate issued by an authorized agency.
